Definers Adds Two New Names to Senior Leadership

WASHINGTON, DC, MARCH 2, 2018–Definers Public Affairs, a strategic communications and research-consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., announced today the hiring of Ben Brown as Chief Technology Officer and that Sarah Pompei is joining as a Senior Advisor.

Pompei, who has extensive ties to Silicon Valley-based companies, will assist with serving and expanding Definers’ outside-the-Beltway business. Brown, who has worked with an array of top tech companies, will oversee all of Definers’ technology needs, including our innovative and cutting-edge “Console” that has revolutionized the way private sector companies receive news information.

“Definers’ team continues to expand, and we are thrilled to welcome Sarah and Ben to our growing ranks,” said Joe Pounder, President of Definers. “They are the best of the best in their respective skill sets, and will be invaluable assets to keep our clients and partners ahead of the curve in the digital era.”

With a decade of experience at the top levels of U.S. politics and corporate America, Pompei recently launched her own public affairs consulting firm, POMPEI VIII, LLC. Previously, she worked as a Director on the Public Policy team at Lyft and Director of Corporate Communications at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where she also served as a primary spokesperson for the company. Before her corporate work, she served as a communications lead for both of Mitt Romney’s presidential campaigns, as Communications Director in U.S. Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy’s office, as press secretary for Meg Whitman’s gubernatorial campaign. Pompei’s expertise in political and corporate fields makes her a perfect fit for the Definers team.

Ben Brown is a senior executive with a wealth of experience in business strategy and technology. Brown started his career as an Internet Developer and Solutions Architect for Delta Airlines. After his time at Delta, Brown became an Independent Consultant assisting companies like IBM, HP, GTE and Merrill Lynch in developing and launching top-tier internet-based businesses. In 1999 Brown co-founded Liquidity Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: LQDT). Within a decade, LSI exploded from five employees to more than 1,000 employees and topped nearly one billion dollars in sales. Since 2009, Brown has been an active real estate investor, an angel investor in several new ventures as well as a CTO level consultant. Brown will be a major asset to Definers’ fast growing technology operations.
