Seasoned Policy Expert Sally Canfield Joins Definers Public Affairs
WASHINGTON, DC, MARCH 19, 2018 — Definers Public Affairs, a strategic communications and research consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., today announced that Sally Canfield is joining the firm as Senior Vice President.

Most recently, Canfield served as Senior Director of Government Relations at The ONE Campaign, where she led an experienced team of lobbyists and consultants to place pressure on governments to do more to fight AIDS and other preventable, treatable diseases in the poorest places in the world. Canfield has a vast array of political and public policy experience. She served in the U.S. Senate as Deputy Chief of Staff to Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and worked as Director for International Government Affairs at AbbVie. Prior to her return to Capitol Hill, she served as Senior Director for Policy at Sanofi-Aventis US, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, and as Senior Program Officer in the Global Health Division of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. In addition to this notable experience, Sally has held various senior positions including Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Counselor to the Secretary at the Department of Health and Human Services, and Senior Policy Advisor to the Speaker of the House. Sally served as Domestic Policy Advisor to then-Governor George W. Bush during the 2000 presidential campaign and as Policy Director to then-Governor Mitt Romney his 2008 White House run.
